Application
Cosmetics:
Bismuth oxychloride has been used in cosmetics for decades as a filler, skin conditioner, and colorant. It was the first pigment to be synthesized with a non-toxic pearl luster.
Medical imaging plastics:
Bismuth oxychloride has excellent radiopacity and is compatible with a wide range of polymers. It is more temperature stable than basic bismuth carbonate. White flake particles provide a smooth pearlescent effect on components. This can be a limitation to accurate color matching.
